Hey everyone! I am healing quite well, and losing weight. But I think alot of people would lose weight on broth, and jello... I never thought I would say this but, I am actually looking forward to pureed food! haha
The only thing that is hard with this week, is that im itchy, so I the nurse said its probably the loratab. So I take bubblegum flavor tylenol... YUM.
Also it hurts to laugh, I turned on Glenn Beck today and had to turn it off because He makes me laugh so much.
I am walking around, in the "barbie" tights to help the blood clots. I can't wait to get them off, and I cant wait for a bath, or to go swimming. Other than that, I am seriously so happy with my decision, and once again I am very blessed! Once again I am so happy and honestly recovering fast. And honestly its not that painful. I love everyone, and I love my jello!

surgery is fun, boys and girls...
Thats right, surgery was not that bad. About twelve hours from when I had the surgery, and I can literally say I would do it all again. It went really smooth.
I was in the pre op, with no worries at all. I was kind of excited to get my gown, slippers, and the blue shower cap on. I was ready! haha
During the surgery they did find a small hernia, which was really surprising because I wasn't too overweight, and I was not a male. But It makes a lot of sense now why I was so sick sometimes, having acid reflux and the DR's not knowing why. So yay!
I am a little sore, I just almost feel like I do have heartburn, thats only way I can describe the scars. The five really are not that painful. Honestly, I don't think I have every been so blessed and watched over. I think I had a lot people helping out on the other side.
Eric, "My person of care" (thats what the surgical place did call him, and I think he likes that title) has been great.
ll I know is that I was coming out of the recovery room talking alot about "The Bachlorette"... The nurse thought it was funny but pain medication or not, I remember the conversation.. Well thanks for you're support.
And theres nothing better than jello.. hmmmm

... Im alive
Well I am alive. Actually, things have been going well on the diet. For this week I lost a total of 6 pounds. So I am honestly thrilled! Just one more week of this thing, and then Im under the knife.
With all the sugar withdrawls.. thankfully thats over, but I think this makes you prepare for the band. Because this is tough, only have 1000 calories, especially on the weekends (without cheating). I feel that I can do it.
I have found through this low cal diet that I am just a bored/nervous eating.. some would call an "emotional eater" I never knew that about myself. I go for the fridge when I am bored. I have found that If I keep myself busy, or leave the house, that Its a nice break from food.
So far so good. Thanks for all the support!

Sugar Withdrawals
Day 2 on my pre op diet. Woke up this morning, and lost 2 pounds, yay! Also woke up this morning with a little bit of a flush feeling... YUP you guessed it, I am having sugar withdrawals. Why did I have to drink so much Dr. Pepper? Its so not worth it. The weird thing is I am not having ANY headaches... hmmm. maybe there is a connection with my diet.
Also am finding new things to replace food with. So far it has been playing my Nintendo DS, naps, books, etc.
EXERCISE: I want to start exercising without wanting to pass out (like today), so I am probably will start in the next few days. I think school counts, Tommy wears me out, but I will probably start swimmin'. Aqua size anyone?
We never repent of having eaten too little.

Pre op Diet Fun
woot! I start my pre op diet TODAY. (AS the Theme song for Rocky plays in the background). FYI..I can have up to 960 calories. Lets just say that I am using up every little calorie, but I am NOT going over. I honestly feel great. I called my mom and told her 2 hours into the diet, saying I feel like I lost a good 10 pounds. Now I come from a long line of over reactors, and I tend to be dramatic, but I actually do feel like I never stuck so close to a diet before. I mean business.
I have been asked what have been you're lowest points, why have you wanted to do this? Well It all started when I happened to be at my parents house, struggling with my weight. We get letters from Lese's group home, and it gives us updates on how she is doing. Well this one I happened to glance and saw lese's weight. WHAT? Analese WEIGHTS LESS THAN ME! No offense to Lese.
I have had great support. Its been awesome. I'm really excited and nervous, but I can do this. Cheers!

Where's My Band?
My name is Lindsay and I am a addicted to food... I have decided to get Lapband surgery. It is not the easy way out, it is actually going to be hard. I'm Probably going have a few panic attacks, some tears, but hopefully some good times. I guess I am writing this blog to share with you the ups and downs, why I got here, and what I can do about it.
Lets start at the beginning. I was about 10 years old and somehow could eat dunford donuts and not even be counting the points. 10 years old in the TJ MAX dressing room trying on swim suits, I looked in the mirror and my body just said, "Lets give ya the fat genes"..
I struggled with it a lot growing up, I mean who gets husky jeans from old navy in 7th grade? wasn't I awkward enough?
This is not a sad story, I have a good life, and now I am ready for a new chapter.
THE DIET: ok confession I have been drinking gallons of Dr. Pepper, almost to the point I have my mouth under the Soda fountain at 711. Its not pretty. Lets just say IM so ready to get off everything. I never thought I would be saying this, but I dont want a dunford donut again.
This Diary is going to share the good with the bad, and I'm excited. I'm not doing this so I can fit into those 7 jeans.. although it will be nice. I am just looking forward to good health in the future. LETS DO THIS!
